4. Revolution.

On the 7th day of June in the year 1893, at the age of 24, while Mohandas Gandhi was on his way to Pretoria, a white man objected to Gandhi's presence in a first-class carriage, and he was ordered to move to the van compartment at the end of the train. Mohandas, who had a first-class ticket, refused, and was thrown off the train at Pietermaritzburg.

Shivering through the winter night in the waiting room of the station, Gandhi made the momentous decision to stay on in South Africa and fight the racial discrimination against Indians there.

History says that the seeds of the revolution were sown on that very night.

While I second to what history says, I would like to ask myself a question - "Has there not been any incident in my life similar to the one above that was worth a revolution?"

I admit that there were many.

What happened to those incidents then?

Why were such incidents different than the one occurred in the life of Mohandas on the platform of Pietermaritzburg?

I believe there was no difference between the seed; the inception of the revolution. The difference was - "Gandhi's seed was transformed into the purpose of his life and my seeds (at all such incidents) took a pause immediately after it's inception"

Had Mohandas taken a pause (which he could have easily done thinking that it's a part of life or anything else), things would have been diverse.

From that day onwards, it took him a mammoth 54 years, 2 months and 8 days to see the light of the day.

Can I take a pause from my comfort zone and resume my revolution, my purpose, my being towards a dignified life?

3. MLA.

On 20/08/2013, we had a detailed meeting with Mr. Prakash Mehta, the MLA of Ghatkopar (E). He initiated with sharing his experience in his political career of 35 plus years. He briefed us about the various revolutions and happenings during 1977 onwards and many other incidents that happened of which he was a witness himself.

Basically, we have initiated a small non-political group called NaMo brigade... NaMo Brigade Managalore is the first initiative of its kind and we have started Mumbai chapter. Prakash Mehta came to know about it and he called us as he wished to support the same. Before meeting him, we had judged his intentions of political manifesto. Since we have scheduled the official launch on 25/08, he wanted to be a part of the launch and hence he had called us. However, we wanted to meet him and politely refuse him about his direct involvement as the main 3-pointer agenda of NaMo brigade is as follows -

1. to make citizens aware of the importance of VOTE, motivate them to get their VOTER ID if not prepared, GO for Vote during 2014 elections and spread the awareness regarding the same.

2. Get acquainted with the local administration, know the roles and responsibilities of the Corporator, MLA, MP and the duties of a common man (From RTI to approaching the local representative, procedures for escalating the matter, etc). The lack of awareness of a common man (and there is a humongous amount of this lack) is benefitting the so called administration of the country where in a common man has lost his dignity and is being taken for granted. Hence, choosing the party and the candidate whose ideology aligns with the one of a common man towards a developing nation and a dignified living.

3. Prevent Cribbing and Moaning about any issues - from Society to Area to Region to State to Nation; to Infrastructure to Water to Garbage to Electricity to Law & Order and further, get educated about the simple steps to be taken against those issues and start taking those steps. Most of the issues are relatively simple to resolve by taking appropriate measures but the unawareness of the same is leading to a loads of Chaos and Frustration.

Listening to the above, he concurred with the idea but was still of the Opinion that when we are promoting NaMo means directly we are promoting BJP and it's a political motive. While we agreed with him, we also mentioned that there is a lot of Political Phobia in today's youth. For today's common man, a Politician is synonymous to a Criminal. Hence, we would like to initiate with the above agenda and increase the voting percentage of sane and educated youth who believes that Voting is a crime and is unrealized of the fact that these heaps of Scams, weakening of Economy, etc is certainly hampering the life-style as the cost of living has shot up like anything whereas the percentage increase in income and it's sources is wafer-thin compared to the inflation over a period of last 9 years.

At the concluding note, he did recommend us to initiate and promised an up-front back-door support from his end.

2. Bheed.

laakhon ki tarah aankhon me sapne liye,
un sapno me shaamil, begaane aur apne liye,
haan main is bheed me hun, yaheen hun!

kabhi sochta hun kuch alag sa karu,
auron ki tarah, kya sirf jiyu aur maru,
kya main jo is bheed me hun, sahi hun?

socha bahut, aur ki baatein duniya ki sab,
bas nahi kiya wahi, jisey main kehta 'alag'
Isliye saalon se is bheed me hun, waheen hun!

himmat kar us disha me rakhne jaate hi pehla kadam,
sawaal khada hota hai ek, aur reh jaata main tham,
Bura kya hai jo is bheed me hun, khush hi hun!

bhaagta hi rahu zindagi bhar aur phir ek din,
aage badhte badhte, bheed me hi ho jaunga vilin,
Phir kahaan is bheed me hun, nahin hun!

bheed me ek jagah khaali hogi..
par bheed tab bhi rahegi..
mere nikalte hi koi aur aayega..
wo bhi ye hi dohraayega..
haan main is bheeed me hun, yaheen hun!
