3. MLA.

On 20/08/2013, we had a detailed meeting with Mr. Prakash Mehta, the MLA of Ghatkopar (E). He initiated with sharing his experience in his political career of 35 plus years. He briefed us about the various revolutions and happenings during 1977 onwards and many other incidents that happened of which he was a witness himself.

Basically, we have initiated a small non-political group called NaMo brigade... NaMo Brigade Managalore is the first initiative of its kind and we have started Mumbai chapter. Prakash Mehta came to know about it and he called us as he wished to support the same. Before meeting him, we had judged his intentions of political manifesto. Since we have scheduled the official launch on 25/08, he wanted to be a part of the launch and hence he had called us. However, we wanted to meet him and politely refuse him about his direct involvement as the main 3-pointer agenda of NaMo brigade is as follows -

1. to make citizens aware of the importance of VOTE, motivate them to get their VOTER ID if not prepared, GO for Vote during 2014 elections and spread the awareness regarding the same.

2. Get acquainted with the local administration, know the roles and responsibilities of the Corporator, MLA, MP and the duties of a common man (From RTI to approaching the local representative, procedures for escalating the matter, etc). The lack of awareness of a common man (and there is a humongous amount of this lack) is benefitting the so called administration of the country where in a common man has lost his dignity and is being taken for granted. Hence, choosing the party and the candidate whose ideology aligns with the one of a common man towards a developing nation and a dignified living.

3. Prevent Cribbing and Moaning about any issues - from Society to Area to Region to State to Nation; to Infrastructure to Water to Garbage to Electricity to Law & Order and further, get educated about the simple steps to be taken against those issues and start taking those steps. Most of the issues are relatively simple to resolve by taking appropriate measures but the unawareness of the same is leading to a loads of Chaos and Frustration.

Listening to the above, he concurred with the idea but was still of the Opinion that when we are promoting NaMo means directly we are promoting BJP and it's a political motive. While we agreed with him, we also mentioned that there is a lot of Political Phobia in today's youth. For today's common man, a Politician is synonymous to a Criminal. Hence, we would like to initiate with the above agenda and increase the voting percentage of sane and educated youth who believes that Voting is a crime and is unrealized of the fact that these heaps of Scams, weakening of Economy, etc is certainly hampering the life-style as the cost of living has shot up like anything whereas the percentage increase in income and it's sources is wafer-thin compared to the inflation over a period of last 9 years.

At the concluding note, he did recommend us to initiate and promised an up-front back-door support from his end.
